About

Joyce K. Jensen was born in Evanston, Illinois in 1945, at a time when women artists were a rare anomaly. After working as a journalist, and freelance and fiction writer, at the age of 55 she pursued her dream to become a visual artist.

Currently based in central Indiana, Joyce primarily paints watercolor still lifes, specializing in reflections in silver; marbles and vintage tin toys; and colorful candy. She is also known for her detailed ink drawings of decaying barns and other buildings that will soon be lost to the ravages of time. She also occasionally works in acrylic and oil.

Her paintings and drawings have won nearly 50 prizes and awards, and have been accepted in shows around the country. They have also appeared in numerous magazines and several books.
